The Goat House I Built For Free

This is what I LOVE to do

Here’s the goat house I built with the help of my good friend Paul for Smith Farm Goat Sanctuary in Fuquay-Varina, NC! The rescue reached out because they’re expecting a few new goat surrenders, and I wanted to make sure those newcomers had a safe, cozy place to call home.

This project was a 6′ x 8′ goat house and done completely free of charge—I never ask for payment for materials or my time when it comes to helping rescues.

How Your Donations Are Used
I created this page to make it easy for everyone to follow my journey and share in my passion for goats. It also provides full transparency so you can see exactly how your donations are used.

I normally set the posts first and then come back the next day to build it. This time, I did it all in one day and it took use 4.5 hours from start to finish.

  • The goat house was 6′ deep x 8 ‘ wide.
  • The back was 5′ high and the front was 6′ high.
  • We used 4″ x 4″ pressure treaded posts.
  • For the sides and the back we used 4″ x 10″ 8′ because they were donated, but a good size for that would be 2″ x 4″ x 8′.
  • I used T1-11 panels for the sides and the back.
  • For the roof I used 2″ x 4″ x 8′
  • For the metal roof, I used 36″ x 8′ long

A HUGE thank you to: Mark from Enhance Construction https://enhanceconstructionco.com for donating the 2″x10″ lumber.

Jay and David with Guy C. Lee Building Materials-Clayton for donating the 4″x4″ posts.

🪵🐐 Goats are my passion, and my mission is to support goat owners, farmers, and rescues in need by lending a hand wherever I can.

If you need something smaller. take a look at the goat shelter with plastic pallets that I built.

One Person Can Make a Difference

Want to make a real difference in the lives of animals? Help me, help them.

I’ve personally been covering much of this work out of pocket, but this is where your support truly makes a difference. Every contribution—big or small—is a lifeline. It goes directly toward providing immediate, hands-on help for animals in need and enables me to continue supporting other struggling rescues. Please consider helping me carry this mission forward. Thank you so much for your support! 🙏🙂🐐

About Me

My passion is helping goat rescues and animal rescues in North Carolina

Through my business I was introduced to a home builder by the name of Jerry Pounds. He owns and operates an animal rescue in Benson NC called “Old Cowboy Animal Rescue”. July 2020 I decided to visit the animal rescue and donate some of my time. When I got there, I fell in love with the goats and donkeys.

From that day forward through volunteering, awareness, donations and marketing it has been my top priority to help goats and donkeys in any way I can.
